The .edu.ng SLD is a closed one and reserved for ONLY tertiary academic institutions as approved and accredited by the relevant authorities like the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC), National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), NCCE, and any other body as recognized by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Rules
All registrations on the .edu.ng SLD would be at the 3LD (e.g internet.edu.ng). Various departments or institutions under the qualifying institution may then be subdomains and NOT a full domain
Requirements
Registrants in the .edu.ng SLD are required to be approved and accredited Degree Awarding Tertiary Institutions.
The registrant is to provide:
- Accreditation document from the relevant accreditation board. e.g NUC for universities, NBTE for polytechnics NCCE for College of Education, etc
- A scanned copy of a letter on the letterhead from the school requesting the domain name or authorizing a member of staff to register the domain on behalf of the institution. This letter should contain the full name, email address, designation, phone number, and contact address of this member of staff and should be addressed to:
